Mere Turei, a Māori astrophysicist, descends to a claustrophobic station floating above the vast red ocean of Kiwa. Her best friend has vanished, and every second counts. On this planet, time is a trap: one hour on the surface equals three hours above.

The Red Ocean causes "Red Dreams": visions so vivid they become indistinguishable from true memories. To find her friend, Mere must reconcile her scientific logic with the ancestral wisdom of her Māori heritage. But in a place where dreams rewrite reality, can she trust her own memory?

"Crossing the cosmos in a tiny vessel surrounded by the void is the closest thing to what ancient navigators must have felt while crossing the Pacific in a Māori waka (canoe). That analogy is the foundation of Red Dreams' identity."
Daniel González, Creative Director.

Features

Investigate with AFI

Your AI drone is more than a tool. It's your travel companion and the voice of your conscience. The longer AFI spends in Kiwa, the more his relationship with Mere evolves, making him more human.

A unique visual style

Highly detailed pixel art meets the full power of Unreal Engine, woven together with the evocative patterns of Māori design. The result is a world that feels both ancient and centuries ahead of us.

Great actors

Every member of the Taniwha crew breathes, doubts and deceives. Brought to life by professional voice actors, including a native New Zealand actress as Mere — because authenticity was never optional.

Classic soul, modern pulse

Born from the golden age of point-and-click adventures. Evolved for those who never stopped believing that a great story is the best mechanic of all.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

Māori culture in a videogame

Why Māori culture?

A Spanish studio. A Māori world. The story of how a 1990 nature documentary about an extinct bird in New Zealand changed everything.
