Introducing Red Dreams: Our Upcoming Hard Sci-Fi Psychological Thriller
May 27, 2026
The day has finally come! We're over the moon (and maybe a little bit nervous, as always) to finally share with all of you what we've been secretly cooking up at Gametopia.
Meet Red Dreams, our brand-new narrative pixel art adventure. It is a hard sci-fi psychological thriller that explores how dreams can rewrite our memory, deeply intertwined with the rich and mystical roots of Māori culture.
It's been several years since we launched Verne: The Shape of Fantasy, and we have poured our hearts and souls into this new project. We've done extensive research to treat the Māori heritage with the absolute respect and admiration it deserves, as we are deeply passionate about it. If you want to know more about our creative journey and inspiration, you can check out our full article on why we decided to make a game inspired by Māori culture.
But enough talking for now. Turn up the volume, dim the lights, and take a first look at the official teaser trailer:
As you can see, the game combines a claustrophobic sci-fi atmosphere with a unique visual identity, where the pixel art blends traditional futuristic station designs with stunning Māori architectural motifs.
If you are a journalist, content creator, or just a curious mind who wants to dive deeper into the story, features, and screenshots, you can find everything you need in our official Press Kit.
A small favor before you go... Wishlist Now on Steam!
As an indie studio, every single bit of support means the world to us. If Red Dreams catches your eye, adding it to your Steam Wishlist makes a massive difference. It tells the Steam algorithm that people care about our game, helping a small team like ours dream big. No pressure, but it would really help us open those Steam doors wide tomorrow!
Thank you so much for being on this journey with us.
